The Girl's thinking of baby names

So it's our due date has officially changed yet again. :)  9-9-11 is the new date and with my back surgery that I had last year we are doing a scheduled c-section when the time comes.  The girl's are so busy trying to figure out if we are having a boy or a girl and they have had some wild names!  Avary likes Starbucks and Oliver ( she calls black olives Olivers) haha!  Sloan is leaning more towards tree hugging names like Star and Star and every single time I ask her she says... Star!  Ha ha!  Such little imaginations and Aaron and I support their eagerness by telling them we will ad it to our lists!  Avary brought her progress report home yesterday and she did outstanding if I do say so myself!  She tested so high in every level and we couldn't be more proud of her.  We defeat her Galactosemia complications in every way! We took her to ToysRUs last night and let her pick out two new Explorer games for her Leapster.  We love this educational system and so does she!  She doesn't even realize it is educational until she gets a math problem wrong. hehe
I am heading to Iowa on February 23-27 for some much needed "me" time.  It will be so fun to hang out with my bestie Amy and my sisters all in the same trip.  I wont get to see my Dad and Mom (hopefully) they will be enjoying their Israel and Egypt trip if all is safe for them to go.  We have a lot of fun things coming up in the near future!  I will keep everyone posted!  Happy soon to be Spring!

Happy 2011

What an amazing Christmas we had.  We were blessed enough to get to go to Iowa over Christmas and it was a great trip (a side from our living nightmare at the airport).  We got to go to Montezuma and to Keystone and see all of our family.  I was even lucky enough to see my bestie and Avary's bestie too.   The weather in Virginia has been mild and we have not had a lot of snow which I think is pretty sweet!  We did have our first real snow last week and you would have thought the world was coming to an end the way people act around here.  We took it in stride and bundled up the girls and headed outside to make a snowman and slide down a giant snowball.
We are very excited to announce that we are expecting!!!  Aaron and I along with the girls are thrilled.  We are sure hoping for our boy, but we know how awesome girls are too so I am okay with it either way!  We pray for a healthy baby come September.  Avary and Sloan are very excited and we already have the baby room furniture.  I am feeling pretty good but I have had to start taking Ginger pills to soothe my yucky tummy :)
I am flying to Iowa in February to see Amy for her Birthday!  I am excited to be able to go by myself and relax a little.  I'm hoping for decent weather so wish me luck!
Happy 2011 everyone and I hope to post more soon!

Trick or Treat

We had a great time at our friend's "The Sheehy's" for pre- Halloween fun!  We had pizza and goodies and then we were off to hit the town!  I can't believe how much candy two little girl's can accumulate!  Wow!! Alice was busy looking for the White Rabbit and Buzz Lightyear was trying to fend off the scary costumes!  All and all it was a wonderful night filled with laughter and fun!

Pumpkin Carving Time :)

It was our very first year of carving all together.  The girl's were always to young so I would just carve our family pumpkin.  Well not this year!  The girl's loved it! Sloan made the funniest faces while scooping the seeds and Avary couldn't get enough of the slime and seeds!  What a fun time to have Daddy add "polka dots" to their pumpkins with his power drill. :) One letter M, one heart, and one crown!  Happy Halloween!

Halloween

So about 2 months ago Avary asked me if she could be Alice for Halloween.  We had just gotten finished reading her first chapter book Alice in Wonderland .  I was so happy to hear that she wanted to be her, but how would I get a costume to fit the part?  The ones online were cheaply made and expensive.  So who did we turn to?  Grandma Marg!  She is the most talented sewer I have ever met.  There is nothing she can't do!  So when we asked her she went right to work.  This is our finished product and it is stunning!  Thanks Grandma!  You are the best!

Sloan was sure to follow in a request that would be soon met!  Auntie Brandi to the rescue with Buzz Lightyear!! Sloan loves this costume and we can't put it on her or we know we wont get it back off!

We celebrated Fall by going to Hartland orchard and it was a blast.  The girl's picked their one pumpkins and had to help Daddy get apples from the orchard.  It reminded me of our Iowa home with the rolling fields and open spaces.  We finished the day off with a trip to Merrifields Garden Center where they painted their own pumpkin, went down slides, and played in a sandbox full of corn. Awh... Fall is great :)

Our Nest

So my husband Aaron asked why I was setting up a blog.
I thought there would be no better way to keep our family and friends in the "loop" of our "nest".  So join us on our journey as we explore Our Nest.
